Why
In 1985 Antonio Ratti established the Foundation, which carries his name, in order to preserve his collection of antique textiles and with the aim to share his passion for art and fabrics. Since then, the Foundation has been a place for experimentation, discovery, research, and built-dialogue. The artistic and cultural research addresses with detailed attention the restoration and conservation of extraordinary textile heritage works, making the FAR a unique place in continuous transformation.
Supporting the role and work of the Foundation means contributing to the creation of projects dedicated to young Italian and international artists, for the conservation and the restoration of the more then 30,000 exhibits in its collection, to the arrangement of exhibitions, conferences, symposia and educational projects.
