Michael Newman
“…a constellation, perhaps…”: indecision and contingency in the poetics of art after Mallarmé
LECTURE
14 July 2026
FAR - Villa Sucota
Talk by Michael Newman.
In his talk, Michael Newman will explore the theme of poetics and art after Mallarmé, expanding on the subject of the three-part exhibition he curated at Large Glass in 2024.
The lecture will examine how Mallarmé's radical transformation of poetics has been taken up and reinterpreted by artists to the present day, tracing a lineage that continues to shape contemporary artistic practice. Newman will also reflect on the notion of a poetics of curating.
