Corso Aperto
EXHIBITION
3 July 2010
Villa del Grumello
The event was an occasion for visitors to learn more about the research currently carried out by the young international artists who attended the XVI Advanced Course in Visual Arts.
More than an exhibition or a mere presentation of finished artworks, Corso Aperto was a moment in which creative process and artistic research were revealed in their making. This one-day event was articulated in a programme comprising of each artist's presentation of his or her own performance, video or sound installation, or in situ intervention.
The day was conceived as a series of ”studio visits ” located in Villa del Grumello, and as an occasion for the visitors to interact with the participants of the course. The programme included moments of theoretical reflections during which some artists presented their work and their poetics in the form of a short talk.
The participant artists were: Walter Benjamin Smith (USA), Julia Brown (USA), Antonia Carrara (Italy), Danilo Correale (Italy), Abbey Shaine Dubin (USA), Laura Duran (Colombia), Birte Endrejat (Germany), Fausto Falchi (Italy), Till Gathmann (Germany), Adelita Husni-Bey (Italy), Kentaro Ikegami (Japan), François Lemieux (Canada), Eric Martijn (Holland), Ludovic Méhauté (France), Emily Morant (Australia), Elaine Marianne Reynolds (Ireland), Fabrizio Sartori (Italy), Elisa Strinna (Italy), Oriol Vilanova (Spain).
