Di cosa è capace il corpo - Uovo di bocca
An open and polyphonic conversation between Marina Abramović and Chiara Guidi & Romeo Castellucci of Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio on their theater work, With intervention from the audience and CSAV’s curators Angela Vettese and Giacinto di Pietrantonio. Referring to continuities and differences between theater and performance, the conversation faces the themes of the theater as possible place of staging of the performance, of rhythms and ways of execution of the action, of the tension between rationality and emotional fluxus. Western theater accords a certain supremacy to the text, which tends to erase the centrality of the action and to reduce the actor/performer to a mere repeater, and that makes the group reject prose theater. As a reaction, they feel the urge of shifting the attention towards the body exposed and the dynamics that it activates also with the public, in continuity with what Abramović elaborated.
Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio is an italian avantgarde theatre company founded in Cesena by Romeo and Claudia Castellucci and Chiara and Paolo Guidi. Their work is deeply influenced by visual arts and involves a strong ethical and political impact, a representation open to every form of perception (and which involves elements of different art forms) and the will to free the representation from the text. Among their works, Santa Sofia - Teatro Khmer (1986), Genesis for the Museum of Sleep (1999), Voyage au bout de la nuit (1999), the Tragedia Endogonidia cycle (2002-2004), the Il Velo Nero del Pastore cycle (2010-2012).
