Magdalena Droste has been chair in the Art History at the Technische Universität Cottbus in Germany since 1997. From 1980 to 1997, she worked as a curator at the Bauhaus – Archiv, Museum für Gestaltung Berlin. Among many other publications she edited is Gunta Stölzl. Weberei am Bauhaus und aus eigener Werkstatt, the first book on the Bauhaus textile workshop. In 1998, Die Textilwerkstatt am Bauhaus: Das Bauhaus webt. (with Manfred Ludewig) was published.
She is the author of two books on the Bauhaus, which have been translated into more than ten languages, and has published numerous art-historic research works.
